Desription: This height chart poster is a fantastic resource for families with the addition of 8 Healthy Habits covering health information aimed at children ages between 2-17 years. 

These healthy habits cover a range of topics including healthy eating, exercise and limiting screen time. 

Height Chart Poster order quantity (1 per new kindy student)

Description: This is a four day resource using photographs of meals and snacks to demonstrate how to feed a child using healthy foods over the day. The meals were calculated by Dietitians to show what to offer and how much, to meet the nutrient requirements of a 4-8 year old child. Sample meals over 4 days are provided. 

Make Their Meals Count card order quantity (1 per new kindy student)

Description: We've developed a series of recipe videos based on Make Their Meals Count to further support families in feeding their children. The recipes are basic healthy everyday meals suitable for children aged 4-8 years, and are easy to make with ingredients that are readily available.

Northern Sydney Local Health District has created a series of free, 1-2 minute videos that provide information and activities to support children for a successful transition to school. 

Key topics include:

• supporting the transition to school
• fine and gross motor skills

• developing independence and self-care skills
• fundamental movement skills
• interpersonal and self-management skills 
• practical activities to support interpersonal
• self-management skills

There are videos for primary school teachers and for parents and carers. They can be linked to from your school's online platforms.

Jack's Funtastic Day (pictured left):
Jack's FUNtastic Day is a storybook about a boy named Jack who leaves his screen behind for a day to embark on a fun-finding expedition. Along the way he meets Ruby and together they discover that fun and games can be found just about anywhere. This storybook was created to motivate and involve children in the 3 to 6 year old age group.

The Magic Lunchbox (pictured right):
The Magic Lunchbox is a captivating, fun story about packing a healthy lunchbox, especially for children in their transition to 'big' school. In the story, Grandma enlists the help of a magic lunchbox to show Mango and Sprint which foods to pack for school. It supports children of the 4-6 year old age group to understand everyday healthy food choices and "the magic made, when you put good food inside."

Description: SWAP IT is a healthy lunchbox program, trialled on the Central Coast with demonstrated positive results and great feedback from teachers.

This year, we are offering hard copy SWAP IT parent booklets for kindergarten parents and carers to schools who implement the SWAP IT program in Term 1, 2025. These booklets will be provided in Term 1, to support parents and carers to pack healthy lunchboxes from the start of school term. Note: all other resources will be provided in Term 3, 2024.
